TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Over a hundred foreign nationals, including 14 Taiwanese citizens, were detained on suspicion of cybercrime by Indonesia's Bali Island Immigration Bureau at a villa on Thursday (June 27). The identities of the remaining suspects are yet to be determined.

Sweeping Action Against Cybercrime

Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim (希爾米) disclosed that the bureau had been monitoring the villa, and had identified several foreign individuals potentially involved in cybercrime and immigration law violations, which led to the arrest of 103 foreign nationals.

"Among the 103 foreigners, 14 are Taiwanese citizens. The identities of the others are still unknown and are currently under investigation," Silmy said.

Evidence Seized, Detainees Await Investigation
Silmy added that several computers and mobile phones were seized at the arrest scene, and these pieces of evidence are now in custody.

The 103 foreign nationals are temporarily housed in a detention center, awaiting further investigation, he added.

The swift action by the immigration bureau underscores their commitment to combating cybercrime and maintaining law and order.
