TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA, 外交部) expressed strong condemnation of Russia's aggression on Sunday (Sept. 22), aligning with like-minded nations to support Ukraine against authoritarianism and military invasion.

MOFA's statement responded to Russia's Sept. 20 release of a list targeting countries and regions, including Taiwan, for allegedly promoting "policies that impose destructive neoliberal ideological attitudes that contradict traditional Russian spiritual and moral values."

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed this list on Sept. 17, which includes 47 countries and regions. The list also names Japan, South Korea, and Singapore among Asian countries, while only Hungary and Slovakia from the European Union (EU, 歐盟) and Turkey from NATO are excluded.

MOFA highlighted that nearly three years have passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, severely impacting regional and global stability and security. MOFA reiterated Taiwan's commitment to condemning Russia's actions and supporting Ukraine alongside democratic partners who cherish peace.
