KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) urged everyone to cheer for local talents and support more Taiwanese e-sports stars on Sunday (Sept. 22).

Hsiao attended "The Major Six" (六都電競) Finals in Kaohsiung, Taiwan's largest amateur e-sports competition.

The vice president highlighted society's evolving perception of e-sports due to technological advancements and the nation's support for athletes in international competitions.

Hsiao emphasized the professional skills required in e-sports, such as quick reflexes. She noted that these skills are crucial for solving various social problems.

The Major Six, now in its eighth year, has upgraded its format, prizes, and facilities. This year, it introduced a touring offline format, allowing players from across Taiwan to experience the unique charm of e-sports firsthand and inject new energy into Taiwan's e-sports scene.
