TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Authorities took significant steps in the investigation into Gold Apollo (金阿波羅公司) and the Hezbollah pager explosion case on Monday (Sept. 23), having summoned two new witnesses and plans to send them to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office for further questioning this evening.
Chief Prosecutor Chou Tzu-chun (周姿君) led the investigation, with Golden Apollo head Hsu Ching-kuang (許清光) and BAC saleswoman Teresa Wu being questioned as witnesses on Sept. 19. Authorities, with their consent, searched four locations and collected relevant documents before releasing them after questioning.
The prosecutor's office stated on Sept. 20 that the leading prosecutor is thoroughly analyzing and verifying the current investigation data. They assured the public that they would clarify any doubts promptly and provide updates as necessary.
Authorities have found no evidence suggesting Taiwanese involvement in the terrorist attack. They urged the public to avoid speculation, emphasizing their commitment to uncovering the truth to ensure national and public safety.
The investigation follows major explosions involving Hezbollah's pagers and wireless walkie-talkies on Sept. 17 and Sept. 18, causing significant casualties. International media revealed that the model of the pager involved in the Sept. 17 explosion had labels pointing to the Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo.
