TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City's Department of Information and Tourism (觀光傳播局) reported on Wednesday (Sept. 25) that they have received 5,500 responses from seniors aged 65 and above for the upcoming National Day Gala (國慶晚會).

The event, scheduled for Oct. 5 at the Taipei Dome (台北大巨蛋), has generated significant interest, especially due to the return of singer Jody Chiang (江蕙).

The department recently announced ticket distribution methods, both online and offline. They will release 5,000 online tickets via the udn Ticketing System (udn售票網線上系統) at noon on Sept. 30. Seniors must mail a copy of their ID and contact information to the department for a lottery to be held on Oct. 1, which will distribute 400 tickets, with each selected individual receiving two tickets.

Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) Taipei City Councilor Chin Hui-chu (秦慧珠) criticized the allocation of only 400 tickets for seniors, arguing that more should be reserved for Taipei residents. Chin also expressed concern about the effectiveness of the lottery system.

The return of Jody Chiang to the stage has further heightened demand for tickets. As the date approaches, the public eagerly awaits the final ticket distribution and the much-anticipated performance.
