TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's National Day preparatory committee (國慶籌備會) announced on Thursday (Sept. 26) that traffic control measures around the Presidential Office Building (總統府) will start at 11 p.m. to accommodate National Day celebrations. These measures will include nighttime marking and other preparatory activities.

The committee scheduled a rehearsal for the National Day celebrations on Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. in front of the Presidential Office Building. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day, they will implement vehicle control measures in the surrounding areas and invite the public to enjoy the performances at the north and south plazas.

On National Day, authorities will enforce a two-phase traffic control around the Presidential Office Building. The first phase will restrict both pedestrian and vehicle access in the core area from 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 to 1 p.m. on Oct. 10. The second phase will control vehicle access in the surrounding areas from midnight to 1 p.m. on Oct. 10.

The committee reminded the public that the flag-raising ceremony in front of the Presidential Office Building on National Day will not be open to the public due to personnel and vehicle restrictions. They advised those invited to the ceremony to use public transportation to avoid congestion and inconvenience.

For more information on traffic control measures, the public can visit the National Day website.
