TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Regarding Keelung City Mayor George Hsieh's (謝國樑) recall vote, TVBS Polling Center reported on Thursday (Sept. 26) 42% of residents are satisfied with Hsieh's performance, 35% are dissatisfied, and 21% have no opinion.

The Keelung mayor faces a recall vote on Oct. 13.

 

The poll revealed that 41% of Keelung residents like Hsieh, while 34% do not, and 25% remain neutral. In Qidu District (七堵區), 32% support the recall, and 38% oppose it, marking the highest agreement rate among districts.

Overall, 40% of citizens plan to vote against the recall, compared to 25% who will vote in favor. Additionally, 22% will not vote, and 13% are undecided.

In Ren'ai District (仁愛區), 34% oppose the recall, slightly higher than the 31% who support it, showing the smallest margin across all areas.
 

In Nuannuan District (暖暖區), 38% oppose the recall, outpacing the 24% in favor. Zhongzheng District (中正區) shows 34% against the recall, with 18% supporting it. In Zhongshan District (中山區), 41% oppose the recall, surpassing the 19% in favor. Anle District (安樂區) has 43% against the recall, compared to 25% in favor.

Xinyi District (信義區) leads with 46% opposing the recall, about 20% higher than those in favor. Satisfaction with Hsieh's administration has decreased by 2 percentage points since early August, now at 42%, with 14% very satisfied and 28% somewhat satisfied.

TVBS Polling Center conducted the survey from Sept. 19 to Sept. 25, contacting 1,215 Keelung residents aged 20 and above, with 1,012 valid responses and a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points.
