TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, 民進黨) on Wednesday (Nov. 6) emphasized the unwavering strength of Taiwan-U.S. relations following the U.S. presidential election. DPP Spokesperson Han Ying (韓瑩) remarked that bipartisan support in the U.S. ensures the relationship remains unaffected by electoral outcomes.

Han congratulated Republican candidate and President-elect Donald Trump on winning the presidency. She also expressed gratitude and respect for current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their efforts in fostering Taiwan-U.S. relations. Han added that the DPP looks forward to deepening partnerships with the U.S. across various sectors grounded in shared values and a robust economic relationship.

She highlighted the importance of collaborating to address global challenges and maintaining democracy, peace, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. The party aims to contribute to a mutually beneficial Taiwan-U.S. relationship, reinforcing their commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
