TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Executive Yuan (行政院) announced on Thursday (Nov. 14) plans to enhance government subsidies through the Act Governing the Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures (財政收支劃分法) to ensure fairer implementation. This initiative balances Taiwan's regional development by increasing funding for public infrastructure projects.

Michelle Lee (李慧芝), spokesperson for the Executive Yuan, highlighted progress in the Legislative Yuan (立法院) regarding amendments to the fiscal allocation law. She noted that the central government's financial aid to local governments has risen annually, and the subsidy amount will reach NT$1.015 trillion in 2025. Moreover, Lee claimed that the central government directly subsidizes social welfare funds to improve local governments' financial capabilities.

Lee added that the government plans to enhance subsidies for public construction and other grants to ensure fair competition among counties and cities with weaker financial capabilities. This effort will make the fiscal allocation law more equitable across Taiwan.

Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) on Wednesday emphasized the central government's confidence in executing the current fiscal allocation law. He stated that the government will strive for fairer implementation in the future, assisting counties and cities with less fiscal strength to boost their competitiveness.
