TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Supermicro and Guorui Group (國瑞集團) announced plans on Wednesday (Dec. 25) to build a pure green power computing center, sparking government support for the initiative. The Executive Yuan (行政院) emphasized that the government remains optimistic about cross-national investment collaboration.
Cabinet spokesperson Michelle Lee (李慧芝) revealed that Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) expressed gratitude for Super Micro's commitment to the "Stay in Taiwan, Accelerate Investment Action Plan" (根留台灣加速投資行動方案) and praised the company's global AI influence. The government aims to foster a favorable investment environment, with Premier Cho instructing Executive Yuan Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部) to assist in cross-departmental coordination.
An official noted the government's support for foreign investment expansion in Taiwan, especially in AI and green energy sectors. While Cho refrained from issuing specific directives, he tasked Kung with leveraging his past collaborations with Supermicro founder and CEO Charles Liang (梁見後) to expedite understanding of green energy policies and land acquisition rules.
