TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Executive Yuan (行政院) announced on Thursday (Jan. 2) that an investigation into bullying allegations against Secretary-General Hsu Yi-liang (徐益梁) found no substantial evidence. After interviewing over 10 colleagues, the investigation did not corroborate the claims. Also, 59 employees signed a statement declaring the allegations were false.

Media reports recently accused Hsu of an improper relationship with a female advisor surnamed Chen. Allegations included inappropriate meetings during weekends and lunch breaks, as well as bullying staff. A disabled worker claimed they faced verbal abuse and were forced to plead for a job transfer.

The Executive Yuan initiated an administrative investigation after receiving an anonymous complaint under the name "technician and worker driver." The investigation aimed to clarify the facts. The report was submitted to the "Workplace Bullying Complaint Review Committee" (職場霸凌申訴評議委員會) for record-keeping.

Addressing legislators, Hsu emotionally stated, "This report has caused immense harm to my family and colleagues, and I hope to clear my name." He explained that on July 26, a typhoon day, he visited a vice premier's residence to assist with repairs, following Chen's concerns about the damage.

The Executive Yuan also reported two other bullying cases involving the Consumer Protection Committee (消費者保護處) and Public Relations Office (公關處) directors. Both cases are under investigation, with findings expected within a month.
