TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The FUSO eCanter electric commercial vehicle has emerged as a zero-emission solution, supporting Taiwan's industries in aligning with global green energy transportation initiatives. With its electric power take-off (ePTO) system, the eCanter supports varied vehicle bodies, including refrigerated trucks and garbage compactors, effectively addressing diverse needs while minimizing power output loss, according to Douglas Huang (黃俊賓), head of FUSO Product and Marketing.
Speaking to the media, Douglas Huang emphasized three major advantages of the eCanter: the eAxle, versatile battery options, and the Truckonnect system. The eAxle enhances power transmission efficiency by simplifying size and weight, thus reducing maintenance and energy costs. Also, its battery configurations cater to different business needs, while the Truckonnect system facilitates fleet management and carbon footprint tracking.
The eCanter has been shortlisted for the prestigious Dream Car Award (金Car獎), which evaluates vehicles on innovation, practicality, environmental benefits, and market performance. Chen Yi-hung (陳奕宏), a member of the award's expert panel, highlighted the critical need for energy transformation within the transport industry. Companies increasingly regard carbon reduction in transportation as a key ESG indicator, aligning with Taiwan's governmental aims to advance energy transformation by 2030.
