TAINAN (TVBS News) — The Salt Mountain in Cigu Festival (七股鹽山雪鹽祭) kicked off Jan. 2 in Tainan City Cigu District (台南市七股區), drawing a crowd of tourists eager to participate until Feb. 28. Known for its historical salt fields, Cigu Salt Mountain (七股鹽山) has transformed into a popular tourist landmark.

Visitors can interact with the charming "Snowman Roly-Poly Army" (雪人不倒翁大軍) and a small snow play area, which provides a delightful experience of building snowmen. The festival also launched an "AR Snowman Filter," allowing tourists to capture enchanting snowfall photos. A DIY area also offers a limited-edition "Painted Snowman Picture Frames" (彩繪雪人相框), letting visitors create unique souvenirs.

The site features a 6-meter-tall salt mountain with trails and ropes for easy climbing, offering panoramic views of the salt fields. The "Salt Drying Experience Area" (曬鹽體驗區) retains traditional salt-making facilities, educating visitors on the industry's history. Families can join DIY workshops to craft salt jars and painted wind chimes, with some activities requiring advance booking.

A "Family Recreation Area" includes dinosaur-themed scenery and various attractions, perfect for family bonding. The park also offers a "Mini Train" (遊園小火車) service for convenient exploration, with tickets priced at NT$60 per person for an 8-minute ride. While admission is free, a cleaning fee applies: NT$50 for motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians and NT$100 per car.

The park remains closed on Jan. 28 for Chinese New Year's Eve, operating daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, visitors can check the event's Facebook page.
