TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A top Taiwan's government official highlighted the potential for policy shifts under U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Friday (Jan. 17). He expressed optimism, stating that cooperation could turn challenges into opportunities.

Executive Yuan (行政院) Secretary-General Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) spoke at the opening of the Yesiang Enterprise Co., Ltd (鈺祥企業股份有限公司) Tainan Liuhuan Plant (柳環廠) in Tainan City (台南市), which specializes in micro-pollutant gas filtration technology. He stressed the Executive Yuan's economic development strategies, which focus on innovation, balanced growth in Taiwan, and inclusive progress.

 

He mentioned plans to support small and medium enterprises through diverse revitalization initiatives, aiding in net-zero and digital transformations. Moreover, Kung expressed a desire to amend the Industrial Innovation Act to provide tax reductions for digital AI, information security, and net-zero initiatives.

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) praised Yesiang as a reflection of the thriving technology sector in southern Taiwan's tech corridor. He remarked that the company symbolizes the robust growth and strength of Taiwan's tech industry. According to a Tainan City Government press release, Yesiang continues to transform and upgrade, becoming Taiwan's largest supplier of specialized chemical filters, serving high-tech industries such as semiconductors, panels, automotive, and petrochemicals.
