TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs (外交部領事事務局) launched a new initiative to encourage citizens to utilize its "Overseas Travel Registration" (出國登錄月月抽) service throughout the year, in response to the surge in post-pandemic overseas travel
Travelers holding a Taiwanese passport can register their trips through the bureau's official LINE account to enter a monthly lottery for travel subsidies. The registration service allows individuals, working holidaymakers, and groups to log their contact details, travel itinerary, accommodation, and emergency contacts in Taiwan.
Participants can qualify for the lottery in the month following their registration. Prizes include two grand prizes of NT$5,000 Benefit Xpress (福利即享券), three second prizes of NT$2,000, five third prizes of NT$1,000, and five Pigeon Travel gift packs.
This information enables Taiwan's overseas offices to provide necessary assistance during natural disasters, unrest, or emergencies. The bureau announces winners on its website monthly and notifies them via LINE, requiring winners to confirm their identity and travel details. This initiative not only incentivizes travel registration but also enhances safety and assistance for Taiwanese citizens abroad. As travel continues to rebound, the bureau's efforts aim to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all travelers.
