TAIPEI (TVBS News) — In a strategic move reflecting Taiwan's growing emphasis on artificial intelligence education, Chinese Culture University (CCU, 中國文化大學), one of the island's prominent private educational institutions, has partnered with the Institute for Information Industry Digital Education Institute (III DEI, 資訊工業策進會數位教育研究所), a government-backed technology research center. The collaboration, announced Wednesday (May 7), will create a pioneering "Generative AI Competency Certification" program designed to equip students with practical AI skills increasingly demanded across industries.

According to the university's official statement, CCU has been systematically incorporating AI education throughout its academic programs, developing a comprehensive approach that spans theoretical foundations, hands-on applications, ethical considerations, and relevant legal frameworks. Specialized courses have been tailored for advertising creativity, data analysis techniques, and innovative marketing strategies. Kuo Win-ping (郭文平), who serves as dean of the College of Journalism and Communication, stressed the institution's commitment to faculty development, stating that all teaching staff will undergo AI training to effectively guide students through this technological transition.

The technological significance of the initiative was highlighted by Chang Yu-cheng (張育誠), who directs the Digital Education Institute at the influential Institute for Information Industry. Chang emphasized AI's transformation from an emerging technology to an essential instrument in contemporary advertising creation and strategic marketing campaigns. The partnership's primary value, according to Chang, lies in providing students early exposure to practical AI applications, establishing crucial technical competencies that will enhance their future employability and career advancement opportunities.

Upon successful completion of the program and passing the required assessment, students will earn an industry-recognized certification issued by the Institute, the university announced. Yang Xi-bin (楊錫彬), who leads CCU's Department of Advertising, offered insight into the industry transformation driving this educational initiative, noting how AI technologies have fundamentally altered both the creative process and analytical capabilities within the advertising sector. Beyond student education, the partnership encompasses comprehensive faculty development through specialized workshops and advanced professional training sessions. ★
