NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei's Labor Affairs Department (勞工局) will host a job fair Wednesday (July 30) at Chihlee University of Technology (致理科技大學) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The department aims to connect job seekers with over 1,900 diverse opportunities as summer peak season drives up demand in the service industry. The event represents New Taipei City's effort to address workforce shortages across multiple sectors during Taiwan's busiest employment period.
Chen Jui-chia (陳瑞嘉), the department's director, noted a significant increase in workforce demand across retail, wholesale, accommodation, and food service sectors. The job fair will feature prominent companies including FamilyMart (全家便利商店), Kingza International Co. (王座), La Kaffa International Co. (六角集團), Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐), and Sushi Express (爭鮮), each offering over 100 positions. These major employers represent Taiwan's thriving service economy and demonstrate robust hiring activity across diverse industry segments.
The event will highlight high-paying roles in the culinary industry with attractive compensation packages. Companies like Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐) and Bite 2 Eat (薄多義) offer monthly salaries of NT$53,000 to NT$62,000 (around US$1,802 to US$2,109) for chefs and management trainees. Additionally, more than 400 part-time positions with hourly wages between NT$210 and NT$250 (around US$7.14 to US$8.50) will be available for flexible employment seekers.
Job seekers can also benefit from the "Youth Employment Pilot Program" (青年就業領航計畫), which offers financial incentives for successful employment. Attendees will have access to an AR virtual interview area and a career consultation/resume check-up zone to enhance their job search skills. The innovative technology integration reflects New Taipei's modern approach to employment services and career development support for participants.
