TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tainan City (台南市) launched a three-day cultural extravaganza Friday (Oct. 24) as Yuguang Island (漁光島) in Anping District (安平區) hosts the 2025 Firemosa International Fire Dance Festival (國際火舞藝術節). The spectacular event combines ocean waves, music, and firelight through international fire dance teams and six popular musical acts.
Speaking about the festival, Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) emphasized diverse holiday attractions in the region, including the mesmerizing Blue Tear (藍眼淚) phenomenon at Qinkunshen Fan-shaped Salt Fields (青鯤鯓扇形鹽田). The bioluminescent algae create glowing waters that attract tourists to explore nearby coastal destinations like Jiangjun Fish Harbor (將軍漁港) while sampling regional culinary specialties.
Sunday brings the autumn Tainan Banquet of the Seasons (臺南總舖師四季辦桌) at Chimei Museum (奇美博物館) park, hosted by the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government (臺南市政府觀光旅遊局). Renowned culinary masters Lu Cheng-chih (盧正治) and Chiu Tsung-pin (邱聰彬) will demonstrate their expertise, with doors opening at 11 a.m. for ibon ticket holders.
The culinary showcase will merge Taiwanese, Japanese, and Western cooking techniques while featuring live entertainment from a European string trio, Japanese shamisen, and modern dance performances. Officials encourage attendees to utilize sustainable transportation options, including Taiwan Railways, high-speed rail, and bus services to access these cultural celebrations. ◼
