TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's College Admissions Committee (大學甄選入學委員會) released Monday (Oct. 27) subject requirements for the 115th academic year (2026) under the "Star Plan" (繁星推薦) and "Application-based Admission" (請入學) channels. Students can access the committee's website to review requirements for the upcoming General Scholastic Ability Test (學科能力測驗).
The "Star Plan" channel includes 1,664 participating departments across Taiwan's universities. Most departments (47%) will test three subjects, while 30% will test four subjects. The "Application-based Admission" channel involves 2,206 departments, with varying subject requirements ranging from two to four subjects.
Mathematics A and Mathematics B have been offered as separate test subjects since the 111th academic year. Departments requiring mathematics can choose either option, allowing students to meet standards in just one mathematics subject. Official admission guidelines for the 115th academic year will be published Nov. 4, with printed copies available Dec. 1.
The committee released subject requirements early because test registration begins Tuesday (Oct. 28) and ends Nov. 11. Officials emphasized that Nov. 4's official admission guidelines will provide definitive details about participating departments and required subjects. ◼
