TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Star Plus Legend Holdings (巨星傳奇集團) announced Monday (Nov. 3) an US$8 million (NT$246 million) investment in K-pop star G-Dragon's (權志龍) management company Galaxy. The entertainment firm, co-founded by Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou's (周杰倫) mother Yeh Hui-mei (葉惠美) and business partner Yang Chun-jung (楊峻榮), will acquire up to 7% stake through a specialized industry investment fund targeting cross-border entertainment ventures.

The investment targets strategic collaborations spanning exhibitions, concerts, intellectual property and merchandise development between the Taiwanese and Korean entertainment markets. Star Plus Legend Holdings primarily manages business ventures surrounding Taiwanese pop superstar Jay Chou, making this cross-border partnership a significant expansion into the lucrative K-pop industry territory for the entertainment conglomerate.

Jay Chou shared an Instagram photo with G-Dragon in July showing both artists together on a Taipei balcony, signaling their growing professional relationship. The pair plan to release a collaborative duet as part of their expanding partnership, strengthening the business investment with creative cooperation between the two influential Asian pop superstars.

Industry stakeholders monitor the collaboration's progress as it potentially establishes new entertainment industry trends across Asian markets. The partnership may redefine cross-cultural entertainment ventures, creating opportunities for artists and audiences while demonstrating growing integration between Taiwanese and Korean pop industries. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$30.8)
