TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang drew enthusiastic crowds across Taipei Thursday (Nov. 27) as he visited local restaurants and interacted with fans throughout the city. The prominent tech executive's arrival sparked widespread excitement as he dined at favorite eateries, purchased preserved fruit at specialty shops, and bought snacks for admirers at a bustling night market, creating memorable moments with locals.

Huang dined at Flower Restaurant (花娘小館) upon arrival, posing for photos with fans before visiting Yu Chan Preserved Fruit Shop (譽展蜜餞行) in the afternoon. The CEO purchased preserved fruit and conversed with admirers in Taiwanese, a Chinese dialect widely spoken in Taiwan. He wrote "I love mangoes" on the shop's wall before departing.

Huang stopped at a fruit stand in Tonghua Night Market (通化夜市), buying fruit for bystanders who responded with enthusiastic applause for the generous gesture. The tech executive also purchased pan-fried buns and dumplings from a popular vendor stand in the night market before returning to his hotel to rest after the busy afternoon of public appearances.

Huang told media he was unaware of the potential trade secrets leak case involving Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC, 台積電). The case involves former senior vice president Lo Wei-jen (羅唯仁) allegedly taking confidential information when joining Intel, a major TSMC competitor. Huang's visit reportedly includes plans to meet an old friend, possibly TSMC founder Morris Chang (張忠謀), according to sources familiar with his itinerary.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) said NVIDIA global real estate vice president Scott Ekman promised to submit an investment proposal soon for construction of the company's Taiwan headquarters in the capital city. The Taipei city government, which oversees Taiwan's capital administration, plans to expedite the review process for the proposed headquarters construction project to facilitate NVIDIA's expansion plans in Taiwan. ◼
