TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Regent Taipei (台北晶華酒店) illuminated its 12-meter-tall indoor Christmas tree Thursday (Nov. 27) in a ceremony attended by Regent International Hotels Group (晶華國際酒店集團) Chairman Wouter Verhoef (佛偉倫) and COO Simon Wu (吳偉正). Ginza Sand founder Ryuichi Morimoto (森本龍一) joined the lighting ceremony, marking the festive season's arrival at the luxury hotel. The event launched the hotel's holiday programming, including charitable initiatives and sustainability measures for the Christmas season.

The ceremony featured a tree adorned with 2,000 blue and gold balls symbolizing the Harry Winston brand in the hotel's atrium. The Taipei European School (台北歐洲國際學校) choir performed holiday melodies while Santa Claus greeted attendees during the festive event. Harry Winston Asia-Pacific Vice President Clement Tseng (曾文湘) and Taipei European School British Primary Section Head Siobhain Allum attended the celebration.

Organizers promoted the "Harry Winston's Holiday" limited edition afternoon tea set and announced the "Regent Christmas Charity Market" scheduled for Saturday (Nov. 29). The hotel deployed LED lights to save 5,800 kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2,900 kilograms during the 40-day Christmas season. The sustainability measures reflect the hotel's environmental commitment while maintaining festive programming for guests and charitable initiatives.

The collaboration between Regent and Harry Winston created a display featuring blue and gold ornaments combined with green and white mistletoe leaves in the hotel's atrium. The hotel continues to invite guests to experience the festive programming and contribute to charitable causes throughout the Christmas season. The event combined holiday celebration with environmental responsibility through LED lighting and community engagement initiatives including the charity market. ◼
