TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan is showcasing 57 startups and 83 supply chain partners at CES in Las Vegas through Thursday (Jan. 9), highlighting AI-driven innovations. The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC, 國科會) announced the delegation Wednesday (Jan. 7), with the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA, 台灣科技新創基地), Taiwan's flagship startup incubator, leading the exhibition at the world's largest consumer technology show. Four startups mentored by TTA won CES 2026 Innovation Awards in categories including cybersecurity and sustainable energy.

This marks the ninth year the council, along with the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部), has led startups at CES, emphasizing Taiwan's advancements under the AI Island policy. The council noted that CES 2026's theme, "innovating the future with AI," focuses on AI's transformative role in reshaping global industry chains and business models. The TTA pavilion demonstrates the application of AI in daily life and various industries.

The pavilion features four major zones — food, medicine, housing, and transportation — showcasing Taiwan's innovation capabilities in AI, smart living, digital healthcare, and sustainable development. International representatives, including Senior Director Janenne Remondino from the Consumer Technology Association and Engineering Vice President Sudeepto Roy from Qualcomm, attended the pavilion's opening, demonstrating global interest in Taiwanese startups and their technological solutions.

The event attracted collaboration invitations from country pavilions including Japan, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Israel, and Italy, while Phoenix Vice Mayor Ann O'Brien invited TTA startups for a matchmaking session. The council stated Taiwan's presence at CES underscores its strength in technology development and international market expansion. ◼
