TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF, 家扶基金會) and international humanitarian organization WeWorld issued a joint statement on Thursday (Jan. 8) to reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding children's well-being and dignity amid ongoing crises. The organizations pledged to invest resources to offer tangible hope to children affected by conflict.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (外交部) facilitated a three-year collaboration between TFCF and WeWorld, launching the "Supporting Children's Psychological Recovery in Ukraine" project. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive support system in Kyiv, serving as a crucial hub for international humanitarian aid.
TFCF Chairman Liu Pang-fu (劉邦富) emphasized that this cooperation marks a transition from commitment to action, leveraging years of practical experience. TFCF will provide high-level assistance focused on children's social and psychological health, transforming Taiwan's expertise into a globally applicable aid model to pave a mental path home for war-affected children.
Chen Ming-chieh (陳明杰), deputy director-general of the Ministry's Department of European Affairs, noted that the government cannot act alone in humanitarian aid. He stated that this initiative lets Ukrainian children know they are not alone, and that others are willing to share the burden of war's hardships.
