TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taoyuan Metro Corporation (桃園大眾捷運公司) announced on Thursday (Jan. 22) the return of its popular "Little Stationmaster Experience Camp" at the Airport Hotel Station (A14a) on Feb. 10. This event, designed for children aged 4 to 8, aims to educate participants on public transportation etiquette and safety through hands-on activities, including station tours and ticketing equipment operation.
Registration for the event opens at noon on Jan. 26, and only 20 spots are available. Organizers will conduct a computer lottery on Jan. 27 to select participants, with five additional names on a waiting list. The event fee is NT$600 per child, and parents of selected participants must pay within 24 hours of receiving the remittance notice. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the spot to a child on the waiting list.
The camp, which debuted last summer, received overwhelming praise from parents and children alike. Taoyuan Metro has responded to this enthusiasm by adding an extra session during the winter break, providing more families with the opportunity to participate. Parents from last year's event noted their children enjoyed wearing the stationmaster uniform and completing various interactive tasks, taking home exclusive memorabilia.
Organizers emphasized the event's educational value, as children learn about metro operations and transportation safety through play. Many parents also expressed that their children gained a lot from the experience, making it very worthwhile. Parents can visit the official website for more information regarding the event.
