TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Porsche reported Thursday (Jan. 22) a 10% decline in global deliveries in 2025 compared to the previous year, delivering 279,449 new vehicles. However, Taiwan sales edged up slightly. The global downturn, primarily due to supply gaps in the 718 and Macan models and weakened demand in China, aligns with company expectations, according to Matthias Becker, Porsche's board member responsible for global sales and marketing.

The Macan series emerged as the top-selling model in 2025, with 84,328 units delivered. North America remained Porsche's largest market, accounting for 86,229 units. Meanwhile, 34.4% of Porsche's global deliveries were electrified, with 22.2% fully electric and 12.1% plug-in hybrids. In Europe, electrified models outsold traditional combustion vehicles for the first time, capturing 57.9% of the market.

In Taiwan, Porsche delivered 4,680 new vehicles in 2025, achieving an average market share of 15.4%, up 1.7 percentage points from the previous year. Christian Nater, president of Porsche Taiwan, noted the brand's robust performance despite economic headwinds, highlighting the Macan and Panamera's impressive growth rates of 83% and 57%, respectively.

Looking ahead to 2026, Porsche plans to manage supply and demand under a "value over volume" strategy, as Becker stated. The company will consider gradually discontinuing the 718 and Macan combustion models. Porsche will also continue investing expanding customization services through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the Sonderwunsch program.
