TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Nvidia (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) visited the company's new Nangang (南港) office in Taipei for the first time on Friday (Jan. 30), revealing plans for the company's "second headquarters" in Shilin District (士林區). Huang acknowledged there is a "possibility and maybe even probability" of constructing the facility in the northern Taipei neighborhood. The visit preceded a major employee meeting where Huang planned to thank staff for their hard work and answer all their questions.
Speaking outside the new office building, Huang expressed eagerness to explore the facility, stating, "It's my first time here, incredible! I like it very much. I can't wait to go inside." He also revealed plans for a "very beautiful" headquarters building, which remains largely unseen by both the public and employees. The announcement signals Nvidia's continued investment in its Taiwan presence as demand for AI chips surges globally.
Huang highlighted Nvidia's rapid business growth in Taiwan during the visit. He met with Foxconn (鴻海) Chairman Young Liu (劉揚偉) at the Nangang office to announce Nvidia's global recruitment drive, which includes Taiwan due to its pivotal role in the supply chain and partnerships. Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem remains central to Nvidia's manufacturing and business strategy.
In a lighter moment, Huang joked about employees having more questions than journalists. He assured staff at the meeting, "I will answer all their questions, whether about products, company culture, business, or strategy. Employee meetings are always interesting." Huang's Taiwan visit continues through the weekend as the company strengthens ties with local partners and expands its workforce. ◼
