TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tigerair Taiwan (台灣虎航) announced on Friday (Jan. 30) adjustments to certain flights to prioritize flight safety and ensure efficient allocation of internal resources. The airline's decision has left many passengers frustrated, particularly those with flights scheduled during the cherry blossom season and Golden Week in Japan, as they struggle with non-refundable tickets and limited access to customer service.
Many travelers reported receiving cancellation notices for flights to popular Japanese destinations between March and May, including Narita, Sendai, Hokkaido, Niigata, and Hanamaki. These changes have sparked a wave of complaints on social media, with users expressing dissatisfaction over the inability to contact customer service. One user noted that they've tried reaching customer service representatives in both Chinese and English but still haven't been able to reach anyone.
Tigerair Taiwan emphasized its commitment to flight safety as a foundational principle of its operations and highlighted its strict fleet management measures. Despite the inconvenience to some travelers, the airline apologized and invited all passengers to help safeguard aviation safety. The airline's statement reiterated its focus on safety first.
