TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) forecasts a brief temperature rise on Tuesday (Feb. 10), though mornings and evenings will remain chilly across Taiwan. Most regions will see partly cloudy to clear skies throughout the day. Northeastern, eastern, and northern mountainous areas, along with the Hengchun (恆春) Peninsula, in Taiwan's southernmost tip, may experience isolated showers.

The CWA reported weather conditions will shift on Wednesday (Feb. 11) as a front passes through, strengthening the northeast monsoon. The front will cause a slight drop in daytime temperatures in the north and northeast, with cooler mornings and evenings across the island. Localized brief showers may occur along the Keelung North Coast, eastern regions, and the Hengchun Peninsula, while the Greater Taipei area and northern mountains could see isolated rain.

The CWA said the northeast monsoon will weaken by Thursday (Feb. 12), allowing temperatures to rise during the day, though mornings and evenings will remain cool. Most areas will see partly cloudy to clear skies, with eastern regions and the Hengchun Peninsula experiencing occasional showers. From Friday to Sunday (Feb. 13-15), weather will generally be clear to partly cloudy. Isolated showers are expected in the southeastern and Hengchun Peninsula areas, with eastern regions potentially seeing scattered rain on Sunday.

The CWA said another front and a strengthening northeast monsoon will slightly lower temperatures in the north and northeast on Monday (Feb. 16). Areas north of Taoyuan, a city in northwestern Taiwan, as well as the northeast and eastern regions, will experience localized brief showers. Southeastern regions and northern mountains could also see isolated rain that day. ◼
