TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Meteorologists issued a weather advisory for Taiwan, predicting fluctuating temperatures and varying weather conditions throughout the week. The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) reported mostly cloudy to sunny skies on Monday (Feb. 23), with scattered showers in the eastern regions and Hengchun Peninsula (恆春半島). Keelung's northern coast also experienced isolated rain showers early in the morning.

The administration predicted daytime temperatures to reach 25 degrees Celsius in eastern Taiwan and up to 29 degrees in the west, creating a warm yet comfortable atmosphere. However, temperatures will drop significantly at night, with lows between 15 and 18 degrees in the north and 19 to 20 degrees in the south and eastern regions. Meteorologist Lin De-en (林得恩) advised residents to keep their winter clothing handy, as temperatures will remain above average until next Monday (March 2), before dropping again due to a cold air mass.

Meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) highlighted the influence of southeastern winds, which will bring warm daytime temperatures of around 30 degrees over the next two days. Despite this warmth, "radiative cooling" will cause cooler mornings and evenings, resulting in a significant difference in temperatures between day and night. The Ministry of Environment (環境部) also issued an air quality warning, noting that PM2.5 pollutants from China's coast will affect air quality in western Taiwan and Matsu (馬祖) over the next two days.

A weather front will bring isolated showers to the north and east on Wednesday (Feb. 25), with cooler temperatures due to the northeast monsoon. Another front will approach on Thursday (Feb. 26), leading to more rain and cooler weather in the north by Friday (Feb. 27). Officials also warned of potential fog affecting visibility in western Taiwan tomorrow morning, urging drivers to exercise caution.
