TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Netflix plans to launch the second season of the live-action series "ONE PIECE" (航海王) next Tuesday (March 10). In anticipation, organizers will host the "Mazu's Blessing! Straw Hat Pirate Parade" in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, uniting local cultural beliefs with the adventurous spirit of the sea.
The parade will feature a unique collaboration as Mazu (媽祖) from Dajia Jenn Lann Temple (鎮瀾宮) joins forces with Luffy to guide the event. This symbolizes safe voyages, with the parade starting from the intersection of Haibian Road and Chenggong 2nd Road and heading towards Pier 16 at the Port of Kaohsiung.
Organizers invite sailing enthusiasts from across Taiwan to gather at the Port of Kaohsiung for a celebration that blends fantasy with folklore and anime with the port city's ambiance. Classic characters like Luffy, Zoro, and Nami will appear alongside popular figures such as the Going Merry and Laboon, offering interactive experiences and large-scale photo opportunities.
The event encourages fans nationwide to don pirate attire and join the adventurer's festival, parading from the city to the port, spreading the Straw Hat spirit throughout the Port of Kaohsiung. The adventure's final destination will occur on March 14 at Piers 16 and 17, inviting fans to set sail with the Straw Hat Pirates into a new world under Mazu's protection. From now until Monday (March 9) at 5 p.m., the event calls for 100 pirate partners to register via a form, inviting pirates from all over Taiwan to join the adventure.
