TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Temperatures are set to further rise on Monday (March 4), compared to the weekend, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA). The report anticipates mostly sunny skies with scattered showers forecast for Hualien and Taitung.

Morning temperatures will be somewhat chilly, especially in regions north of Tainan and in Yilan and Hualien, with lows between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius. The early morning temperatures in Taitung and the Kaohsiung-Pingtung areas will range from 16 to 18 degrees.

Daytime temperatures will increase, reaching approximately 22 degrees in areas around Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli. Highs of 24 to 26 degrees are expected in Greater Taipei and the eastern half of Taiwan, whereas temperatures between 26 and 31 degrees are likely in central and southern parts.

Visibility may be affected by local fog or low clouds in the morning, particularly in areas north of the central region.

The Ministry of Environment reveals that due to wind direction blowing from the southeast, Yunlin, Chiayi, and regions north of the southern tip are downwind, with poor conditions for dispersion, making the accumulation of pollutants possible.

Weather specialists predict another front nears Sunday, likely to cause short bouts of rain. The public is reminded that early spring weather varies greatly and they are advised to continually monitor weather forecasts and dress appropriately to avoid catching a cold.
