TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The People's Liberation Army launched a significant aerial operation on Sunday (Nov. 3), deploying 37 aircraft, including J-16s, H-6s, KJ-500s, and drones, for a "long-sea navigation" training exercise. This maneuver, commencing at 9 a.m., saw 35 aircraft cross the Taiwan Strait median line, entering Taiwan's southwestern, southern, and southeastern airspace.

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) reported that the military closely monitored the movements using joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance techniques. The ministry dispatched mission aircraft, naval vessels, and land-based missile systems to respond appropriately, ensuring the safety of Taiwan's airspace and territorial waters.

On Saturday (Nov. 2), the PLA initiated another operation at 6:20 p.m., involving 20 aircraft, including Su-30s and KJ-500s, and drones. Eleven of these aircraft crossed the median line and its extension. The MND detected a total of 27 PLA aircraft, six naval vessels, and three government ships during the operation, emphasizing that Taiwan's military maintained strict surveillance and executed appropriate countermeasures.

These consecutive operations underscore the heightened military activity in the region, prompting Taiwan's defense forces to remain vigilant. As tensions continue to simmer, the Ministry of National Defense calls for increased awareness and readiness to protect national security.
