TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) stated on Thursday (Nov. 7) that Taiwan will experience a slight temperature rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius tomorrow. The weakening of the northeast monsoon by Saturday will bring temperatures to around 30°C. CWA forecaster Hsieh Pei-yun (技正謝佩芸) reported that temperatures in the north and central regions this weekend will bring sunshine and warmth.

Typhoon Yinxing (銀杏颱風) is currently located northeast of Luzon Island (呂宋島) and is expected to move westward. Although the typhoon will pass through the northern tip of Luzon into the South China Sea over the next two days, it will not directly impact Taiwan, Hsieh shared. However, its peripheral circulation will cause significant rainfall in the north and eastern parts, with the northeast at risk of localized heavy or torrential rain.

Hsieh emphasized that Taiwan is currently under the influence of the northeast monsoon, resulting in increased rainfall from Taoyuan northward, as well as in Yilan and Hualien. The outer cloud system of Typhoon Yinxing will approach tonight and tomorrow, intensifying rainfall in the northern and eastern regions. Greater Taipei, Yilan, and Hualien could experience localized heavy rain, with the northeast facing a higher chance of torrential rain.

Another wave of the northeast monsoon will strengthen next Monday, slightly increasing rainfall on windward sides. However, the impact will be more limited, mainly affecting Greater Taipei and the Yilan area.
