TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei District Prosecutor's Office (台北地檢署) directed the Agency Against Corruption (AAC, 廉政署) to summon Taiwan People's Party (TPP, 民眾黨) Chairman Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), and two other key figures to clarify the financial transactions surrounding the Core Pacific City project on Friday (Nov. 8). These included Taipei City Councilor Angela Ying (應曉薇) and Ko's accountant Lee Wen-tsung (李文宗).

Meanwhile, Vivian Huang (黃珊珊), former Taipei Deputy Mayor and TPP legislator, confirmed receiving a witness subpoena from the AAC earlier that day, stating that she would testify after the Legislative Yuan session concludes in the afternoon. When questioned about the subpoena's details, Huang mentioned that it pertains to the "Anti-Corruption Act" (貪污治罪條例), emphasizing her role as a cooperative witness in the investigation.

The recent approval of Ko's detention appears to have intensified the investigation into the Core Pacific City corruption case. Authorities have not only summoned Ko's former confidants and a consultant from the Taichung City Government but also interviewed Ko's wife, Peggy Chen (陳佩琪), twice to examine unusual financial flows linked to Ko.
