TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The National Credit Card Center (NCCC, 聯合信用卡處理中心) reported Friday (Nov. 22) that the average monthly transactions on its micro-payment platform surpassed 5.6 million in the first 10 months of this year, marking a 30% increase from the same period last year. Since the platform's launch in 2007, the monthly transaction volume has consistently exceeded 5.6 million, underscoring the shift toward cashless transactions.

More than 10,000 stores currently use the micro-payment platform, with a 220% growth in transaction numbers compared to 2020. The center noted that cashless transactions have become integral to daily life, facilitating dining, shopping, and parking payments. Merchants have leveraged the platform to attract cashless customers, enhancing transaction speed and satisfaction while expanding payment scenarios.

Restaurant operators facing cost fluctuations and labor shortages have adopted self-service Kiosk machines to maintain operational efficiency. These machines are integrated with the micro-payment platform for seamless financial services.

Also, parking operators have replaced traditional cash payments with self-service payment equipment, broadening the platform's application. The center anticipates continued growth in scenarios utilizing unmanned self-service equipment. As the trend toward electronic payments accelerates, businesses will likely innovate further and adapt to meet evolving consumer preferences.
