TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) returned to Taiwan on Tuesday (Nov. 26) after a significant visit to Canada, during which she revealed how she felt the unity of the Taiwanese people at its peak. Tsai departed for Canada on last Wednesday (Nov. 20) to attend the Halifax International Security Forum, where she addressed global security experts, scholars, and government officials.

Tsai shared Taiwan's aspirations to collaborate with partners who value democracy and freedom to tackle global challenges. During her visit, Tsai said she encountered many enthusiastic Taiwanese and received handwritten letters of encouragement, which she described as heartwarming. Tsai also conveyed the joy of Taiwan's victory in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier12 championship, adding that she used baseball as a metaphor to introduce Taiwan to international dignitaries.

Expressing gratitude to the EVA Air (長榮航空) crew, Tsai appreciated their care, which allowed her delegation to prepare and rest well, contributing to their efforts for Taiwan. She emphasized that whether facing global geopolitical challenges or competing on the sports field, Taiwanese resilience shines through when united and confident, leading to remarkable achievements.
