TAIPEI (TVBS News) — J-Hope, a member of the South Korean boy band BTS (防彈少年團), will make his first solo visit to Taiwan in May. The announcement on Friday (Jan. 10) thrilled Taiwanese fans, who eagerly await tickets for his world tour, "Hope on the Stage." J-Hope, who completed his military service last October, plans to perform on May 24 and 25 at the National Taiwan Sport University Sports Center (林口體育館). J-Hope released his debut solo album, "Jack In The Box," in 2022 before joining the "White Tiger Unit" as an instructor.

His military service earned praise, and he became the second BTS member to retire, following Jin. J-Hope will visit 15 cities, including Chicago, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Bangkok, and Osaka, for a total of 31 performances before arriving in Taiwan. The upcoming tour will feature songs from his special album, "Hope on the Street Vol.1," released last March.

This visit marks the first time a BTS member will perform in Taiwan since the group's concert at the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium (桃園棒球場) in December 2019. BTS, which paused group activities in 2022 as members enlisted, anticipates a full reunion later this year after several members, including V, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook, complete their military service in June. However, Suga's return remains uncertain due to a drunk driving controversy during his alternative service.
