TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-Yen (盧秀燕) announced Tuesday (July 8) that the central government has selected the Fulfillment Amphitheater (文心圓滿劇場) in Taichung to host this year's National Day Gala on Oct. 9. The event aims to draw domestic and international visitors, with fireworks scheduled in Nantou County on Oct. 10.
Mayor Lu highlighted Taichung's previous experience hosting the National Day party in 2011 and 2017, noting the Fulfillment Amphitheater's capacity of 6,000 to 8,000 people. The city government plans to set up a secondary broadcast site at Wenxin Forest Park (文心森林公園), expected to accommodate 14,000 attendees. Lu affirmed that the team will do their utmost to present the best National Day Gala.
Encouraging the public to plan a Central Taiwan National Day trip, Lu suggested taking advantage of the consecutive holiday from Oct. 9 to Oct. 10, offering options for a three-day, two-night or a four-day, three-night itinerary. This initiative seeks to boost tourism and showcase the region's attractions during the festive period.
