TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's Department of Education (台北市教育局) unveiled the "Taipei Smart Electric Vehicle Technology Teaching Center" (台北市智慧電動車技術教學中心) at Nangang Vocational High School (南港高工) Friday (Oct. 3). Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) expressed gratitude to industry partners for contributions to this project, which aims to strengthen the pipeline between students and the electric vehicle industry.
Mayor Chiang noted that Nangang Vocational High School had established an electric motorcycle technology center in 2019. The electric vehicle industry's rapid evolution has increased demand for skilled professionals, prompting the introduction of new resources to upgrade the center. The upgrade focuses on environmental sustainability courses, artificial intelligence technology integration, and Luxgen's (納智捷) donation of an N7 electric SUV plus curriculum development assistance.
The Department of Education reported that Tongya Telecommunications Industry (東亞通信) provided charging stations, ZEPT (捷能動力) contributed a three-in-one power system, and Jonnesway Enterprise (重威企業) offered system cabinets and professional tools. Total donation value exceeds NT$2 million (around US$65,800). The department invested over NT$7 million (around US$230,300) in acquiring the latest electric vehicle maintenance and testing tools, equipment, and fire blankets.
Nangang Vocational High School automotive students Tsai Tsung-yen (蔡宗諺) and Chien Fu-chin (簡富錦) highlighted the global development of the electric vehicle industry. They believe that integrating electric vehicle resources and AI smart machinery at the center will significantly benefit their future academic and career pursuits.
