TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chiayi City announced Monday (Oct. 27) a major cultural showcase featuring 16 themed exhibitions, over 30 performances, and more than 50 activities. The 320+1 Chiayi City Expo (嘉義市城市博覽會), scheduled from Dec. 12 to 28, will celebrate the southern Taiwan city's 321 years of development.
Mayor Huang Ming-hui (黃敏惠) emphasized the expo's ambitious scope, showcasing Chiayi's transformation from its historical roots to a modern, livable city. The event incorporates principles of humanities, design, and innovation. The comprehensive cultural program aims to highlight the city's industrial creativity and development over three centuries.
The city's Cultural Affairs Bureau (文化局), Chiayi's arts and culture department, revealed the expo will involve over 200 local brands and more than 1,000 professionals spanning three weekends. Attractions include stage performances, branded goods markets, guided tours, workshops, and family courses. Local hospitality partners will offer special accommodation packages.
Mayor Huang expressed gratitude for enthusiastic support from various brands, ranging from department store collaborations to exclusive gift set creation. She noted the collaboration reflects Chiayi's diverse industrial creativity and dynamic spirit.
