TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Yankey ARK (洋基工程) signed Quincy Davis III Tuesday (Oct. 28), marking the return of Taiwan's first naturalized basketball player. Davis will bring veteran experience and leadership to strengthen the team's performance in the paint. The signing represents a major acquisition for the professional basketball team.
Head coach Bryant Lee (李逸驊) praised Davis as a strategic enhancement who will mentor younger players. Lee emphasized Davis brings both strength and invaluable experience to significantly benefit the team. Davis called Taiwan his home and expressed hope to help young players grow.
Davis made history in 2013 as Taiwan's first naturalized player, leading Chinese Taipei to fourth place at the FIBA Asia Championship. His career was temporarily halted after an off-court incident resulted in a suspended sentence with the New Taipei Kings (新北國王). Davis expressed honor in returning to Taiwan's professional basketball scene despite past setbacks. ◼
