TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA (輝達) CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) remains tight-lipped about a potential meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平) during his upcoming visit to South Korea. Huang spoke in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (Oct. 29) after delivering a keynote at NVIDIA's three-day GPU Technology Conference, and only hinted at a busy schedule with numerous announcements.

The conference, held for the first time in the U.S. capital, saw Huang and U.S. Secretary of Energy Christopher Allen Wright addressing the media. President Donald Trump, currently on an Asia tour, plans to meet with Huang in South Korea on Wednesday, followed by a bilateral meeting with Xi on Thursday (Oct. 30). Observers eagerly anticipate the outcomes of these discussions amid ongoing U.S.-China trade tensions.

U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent recently stated that the latest round of trade talks has reached a consensus on tariffs, rare earths, and soybeans, providing a "framework" for the Trump-Xi meeting. Wright expressed optimism, noting that while differences exist, both nations share common ground. He emphasized that China is a strong economic and scientific power.
