TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Businesses across Taiwan are offering special Lunar New Year discounts and perks for people with the Chinese character for horse, "ma" (馬), in their names or those born in the Year of the Horse. Several tourist attractions and retailers have launched promotions targeting these lucky individuals as the Year of the Snake begins. The deals range from free admission to complimentary meals and luxury hotel stays, encouraging visitors to take advantage of the festive offers.
Leofoo Resort Guanshi (關西六福莊) in Hsinchu, a county in northwestern Taiwan, has launched a "Horse Promotion" running until Wednesday (April 30). The resort offers exclusive deals for guests with names containing the character "馬" or its radical, including a zebra or hippo ecological experience. Guests with two-horse characters in their names receive a complimentary dinner as part of the promotion.
The resort states the "Horse Promotion" is available only through its official website, phone, or mail reservations, excluding third-party booking platforms. Guests whose names contain three horse characters receive the most exclusive privilege: a complimentary stay in the Gold Suite. The Gold Suite package includes two breakfasts and a Leofoo Village Theme Park admission wristband, limited to one guest per day.
