TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Pokémon GO enthusiasts are converging in Tainan for the "Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos - Tainan" (Pokémon GO Tour:卡洛斯-台南) event from Feb. 20 to 22. The event, celebrating the game's 10th anniversary, will unfold at Tainan Metropolitan Park (台南都會公園) and the Chimei Museum (奇美博物館), offering three themed habitats and a unique "Super Night" activity.
Simultaneously, Los Angeles will host a similar celebration, aligning with Tainan's festivities. Attendees in Tainan can explore themed zones such as the "Central Village", "Coastal Research Institute", and "Mountain Zone". The event promises a chance to encounter the debut of the Pokémon Diancie and Pikachu wearing Calem and Serena hats, alongside new limited-time research and mega raids.
Tickets are required to join the main event in Tainan, priced at NT$818, with an additional "Super Night" pass available for NT$529. A "City Walk Add-on" package is also offered at NT$500. Video game device maker MEGACOM has collaborated with lifestyle news outlet Super Taste (食尚玩家) to launch a special promotion from Feb. 1-21, offering a 30% discount on select Pokémon GO Tour packages, which generates savings up to NT$1,109.
Coinciding with the Lunar New Year, Tainan will also feature local lantern festivals such as the 2026 Yuejin Port Lantern Festival (2026月津港燈節), 2026 Xinying Light Festival (2026新營波光節), and 2026 Puji Lantern Festival (2026普濟燈會), with some events offering free entry. As excitement builds, players are turning to MEGACOM's third-generation DuoMon 3, popular for its dual-account connectivity and automatic Pokémon capture features, making it ideal for extended activities.
