TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署) issued a high-temperature alert on Tuesday (April 14) for southern Taiwan, warning residents in Tainan City and Pingtung County of orange-level heat, while Kaohsiung City faces a yellow alert. The CWA predicted that temperatures may soar above 36 degrees Celsius as a strong southern air mass dominates the region.

The CWA's latest data also revealed that the fourth typhoon of the year, Typhoon Sinlaku, is moving north-northwest over the waters east of Guam. The typhoon is expected to perform a "big turn" over the southern seas of Japan, posing no immediate threat to Taiwan.

Meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) noted that the weather remains clear and warm across Taiwan, with a frontal system oscillating between the Yangtze River Basin and South China. Wu observed that the stable conditions will make Taiwan feel like summer, with Kinmen and Matsu experiencing fog. Wu stated that moisture levels will gradually increase in northern Taiwan on Wednesday (April 15).

A weak front will linger over the northern sea from Wednesday to Thursday (April 16), causing a slight drop in temperatures in northern Taiwan, with occasional localized brief showers. The front will pass on Friday (April 17) and Saturday (April 18), causing occasional brief showers in northern and eastern Taiwan, while other regions will experience cloudy to sunny weather. Wu added that temperatures in northern and eastern Taiwan will slightly decrease on Saturday, providing a comfortable climate in the north, while central and southern areas remain warm.
