TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan experiences stable weather conditions with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies on Wednesday (April 22), according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA, 中央氣象署). Temperatures exceed 30°C (86°F), with southern inland areas possibly reaching 36°C (97°F). The eastern half, including Hualien, Taitung, Yilan and the north coast, may see isolated showers.
WeatherRisk (天氣風險) reported that Taiwan will have a southeast to southwest wind environment on Wednesday, bringing warm, muggy conditions during the day and more comfortable temperatures in the morning and evening. Meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) noted that beginning Thursday afternoon, a front will approach from South China, increasing the likelihood of isolated showers or thunderstorms in the north and central regions.
The front will pass by Friday, resulting in scattered showers or thunderstorms across Taiwan and a noticeable drop in temperatures, especially in the north and east. The cloud and rain zone from South China will continue to affect Taiwan on Saturday, with ongoing rainfall and the possibility of thunderstorms. Residents should be cautious of lightning, strong winds and sudden heavy rain.
The weather will gradually stabilize after the front moves away on Sunday, with reduced rainfall mainly in the eastern half and more stable conditions in the west. Wu predicted that temperatures will rise again from Sunday through Tuesday as the front departs, bringing clear and hot weather. On Wednesday (April 29) and Thursday (April 30), moisture from the south will increase, resulting in partly cloudy to sunny skies with occasional isolated showers in the central and southern mountain areas and the eastern half. ◼
