TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Support for all presidential hopeful pairings in Taiwan's 2024 election displayed a downward trend in the latest public opinion poll on Tuesday (Dec. 12), with the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai-Hsiao ticket has maintained a lead despite a drop of 2.7 percentage points, from 37.8% to 35.1%,

According to My Formosa, the Kuomintang's (KMT) Hou-Jaw pairing saw a marginal decline from 32.6% to 32.5%, indicating a close race, while the Taiwan People Party's (TPP) Ko-Wu team also experienced a dip in their support, sliding from 17.3% to an even 17%.

When it comes to the idea of a party rotation, 32.2% of respondents believe that it would be better for Taiwan's development over the next four years if the DPP continues to hold the presidency.

In contrast, 29% express a preference for a KMT takeover, while 15% would like to see the TPP take the reins.

The poll, which included 1,201 participants over the age of 20, was conducted on Dec. 7, 8, and 11.
