TAICHUNG (TVBS News) — With the 2024 presidential and legislative elections slated for Jan. 13, Taiwan witnessed a "Super Saturday" as three groups of candidates rallied in Taichung to support their respective parties' legislative contenders.

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice-presidential candidate Hsiao Bi-khim campaigned tirelessly for her party's legislative candidates in Taichung.

The grand finale for her day will be at Qingshui District, where Hsiao joined forces with DPP's presidential hopeful Lai Ching-te and legislative candidate Tsai Chi-chang at the inauguration of their joint campaign headquarters.

Meanwhile, Kuomintang (KMT) vice-presidential hopeful Jaw Shaw-Kong attended back-to-back events, supporting Chiang Chi-chen at his rally before heading to Wuri to participate in the inaugural meeting of Yen Kuan-heng's support group.

Amid these heavyweight contenders, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) was not to be outdone.

Tsai Pi-ru, TPP's first district legislative candidate in Taichung, gathered an impressive lineup of supporters, including Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-ye, former Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu, and the TPP's presidential candidate Ko Wen-je to back her campaign.
