NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — As temperatures dipped, New Taipei City's spirit lifted with the German Christmas Market from Dec. 15 to 17.
This second collaboration between New Taipei City and the German Trade Office Taipei brought international holiday cheer to Taiwan, offering a foreign Christmas experience locally.
Despite the cold, the market teemed with visitors exploring 58 unique stalls, indulging in culinary delights, and buying distinctive Christmas decorations. The market showcased an array of German appliances, household products, and live soccer games, contributing to its European charm.
Patrons enjoyed local specialties like exceptionally long sausages, fried items, and hot mulled wine.
Axel Limberg, Executive Director of the German Trade Office Taipei, highlighted the event's role in fostering stronger societal ties and sharing culture and friendship between Taiwan and Germany.
Musical performances and seasonal melodies throughout the market further heightened the Christmas atmosphere.
As 2023 ends, the market stands as a symbol of holiday joy, inviting all to embrace the festive spirit.
